BLOB

Dit stuk zal voor sommige kinderen heel leuk zijn, maar voor anderen misschien gênant, want in dit stuk, … tromgeroffel…, kun je ook zelf meedoen! Dus je hoeft niet verlegen te zijn. Het is SUPER, MEGA, ULTRA ONTZETTEND COOL! (wat overdreven is, maar wat maakt het uit!)

De voorstelling begon met twee dansers die in strakke pakken rondliepen en naar elkaars schaduwen keken met een grote zaklamp, totdat er een soort kwalachtig ding (wat een blob was) verscheen op het podium. Ze probeerden het plat te stampen, maar elke keer teleporteerde het. En op het moment dat ze er tegelijkertijd op stampten, werden de dansers getransporteerd naar de blobwereld.

In de blobwereld waren de schaduwen onvolledig. En de dansers die ook goed konden acteren, hadden het publiek nodig om te helpen alle andere delen weer terug te krijgen. Gelukkig, zelfs als je niet zelf wilt meedoen, blijft het leuk, zeker als je van ‘magie’ houdt. Wat ze allemaal voor magische dingen doen, verklap ik niet.

Na de voorstelling mochten we even kijken bij de techniektafel. Op de computerschermen zagen we de kleine bolletjes die op de kostuums zitten en die de plekken markeerden waar de acteurs op het podium stonden. Zo nam de theatertechnicus delen van de schaduw van de acteurs weg en regelde het ook andere coole functies op het podium.

De dans was een mix van alles, maar had ook wat blob-achtige bewegingen. Toen ze dit mixten met de geluidseffecten en functies, was alles samen een mooie voorstelling.

Ze vragen je ook om aan het begin je schoenen uit te doen, zodat je kunt acteren. Veel plezier!

On Saturday April 5th I went to the piece Blob in Castellum and explored the blob world. This piece will be lots of fun for some kids but maybe an embarrassing one for others because in this piece (drumroll), you can act too! So you shouldn’t be shy. It is SUPER, MEGA, ULTRA INSANELY AWESOME! (which is overexaggerating, but who cares!)

The performance begun as two dancers in tight suits roaming around and looking at each other’s shadows until a sort of jelly fish thing (which was a blob) came. They tried to flatten it, but it every time it teleported. And the second they stamped on it at the same time, the dancers got transported into the blob world.

In the blob world, the shadows were incomplete. And the dancers who could act very well too, needed the audiences to help redeem all the other parts again. Now, if you don’t speak Dutch, at the beginning of the performance, they announce that purple blobs are solos, and blue are in groups. I recommend that if you don’t speak Dutch, if there are purple blobs and if one of the actors give you a hand, just shake your head. You reject because there are going to be Dutch instructions projected above the blob and it will be easier for if you have a blue blob and you can mimic the others. Luckily, even if you don’t want to interfere with this piece, it will still be fun, surely if you like ‘magic’. What magical things they all do, I won’t reveal.

After the performance, we were allowed to take a look at the technology table. On the computer screens, we saw the little balls that are on the costumes that marked the spots where the actors were on stage. Thus, the theatre technician took away parts of the actors’ shadows and also arranged other cool features on stage.

The dance was a mix of everything but also with some blob like moves. As they mixed this with the sound effects and functions, everything combined was a masterpiece.

They also ask to put your shoes off at the beginning, so you can act. Have fun!
